Erasmus+ supports traineeships (work placements, internships) abroad at any workplace for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme Countries at short-cycle Bachelor and Master levels, as well as for doctoral candidates. These opportunities are also open to recent graduates.

EU Project & Policy Innovation Intern

This role is all about getting involved in the heart of European cooperation. You’ll support the development, coordination, and communication of EU-funded initiatives like Erasmus+, ESC, and other international projects. Your work helps shape programs that empower young people, educators, and communities across Europe. Perfect for anyone who wants to mix policy, research, and hands-on project work.

 

Ideal Profile

  • Strong interest in EU policy, international relations, social impact, or public administration

  • Good communication and writing skills

  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable in multicultural settings

  • Enjoys research, strategic thinking, and structured tasks

 

Daily Tasks

  • Research EU priorities, policies, and best practices

  • Draft project ideas, summaries, and concept notes

  • Support writing and structuring EU project proposals

  • Assist with planning mobilities, trainings, and partner meetings

  • Help maintain communication with organisations across Europe

  • Prepare reports, briefs, and documentation for ongoing projects

Digital Innovation & IT Development Intern

This position is for tech-focused interns who want practical experience in digital development. You’ll contribute to building, improving, and testing digital tools, platforms, and experiences that support our educational, youth, or innovation projects. Depending on your skills, you might work on websites, apps, AI prototypes, VR/AR activities, or system automations.

Ideal Profile

  • Studying Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, Architecture (digital), or Communication (tech)

  • Passionate about coding, digital systems, UX/UI, or emerging tech

  • Creative, analytical, and eager to solve problems

  • Ready to collaborate with other tech and non-tech interns

Daily Tasks

  • Develop or improve web/app features and internal tools

  • Prototype AI assistants, automations, or integration workflows

  • Test VR/AR apps and help create immersive experiences

  • Support system design, logic flows, and user experience improvements

  • Help troubleshoot technical issues and test new features

  • Collaborate on digital innovation ideas and pilot projects

Communication, Media & Creative Design Intern

This role focuses on creating the visual and communication identity behind our projects. You’ll help translate ideas into visuals, content, and messages that are clear, engaging, and youth-friendly. Ideal for creative thinkers who enjoy designing, storytelling, or managing communication channels in an international setting.

Ideal Profile

  • Studying Communication, Humanities, Architecture (creative), Sociology, or related fields

  • Strong creative skills — writing, design, media production

  • Loves content creation, branding, and visual storytelling

  • Comfortable working across multiple communication platforms

Daily Tasks

  • Create visuals, graphics, videos, or promotional materials

  • Assist in managing social media and online platforms

  • Draft communication content: posts, articles, newsletters

Sustainability, Science & Circular Economy Intern

This position connects scientific knowledge with environmental and social impact. You’ll support research, awareness activities, and project development related to sustainability, green innovation, wellbeing, and circular systems. Ideal Profile

  • Studying Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Medical/Health, or Engineering (green focus)

  • Passionate about sustainability, green tech, and ecological innovation

  • Good research and analytical skills

  • Interested in science communication and public outreach

Daily Tasks

  • Research environmental, scientific, or well-being-related topics

  • Support preparing project concepts on sustainability or the circular economy

Business, Management & Strategy Intern

  • Studying Economics, Management, Sociology (organisational), or Engineering (project/management track)

  • Analytical mindset and interest in organisational development

  • Interested in how NGOs and EU-funded programs operate

Daily Tasks

  • Conduct market research and prepare economic insights

  • Support strategic planning and process optimisation

  • Assist with internal workflow design and task coordination

  • Track progress of internal projects and partnerships

HR, Training & Youth Development Intern

This role places you at the center of people-focused work inside an international NGO. You’ll support recruitment, onboarding, training activities, and youth engagement initiatives while helping create a productive, inclusive, and supportive environment for interns and project participants. Perfect for students who want a mix of human behaviour, learning processes, coordination, and social impact.

Ideal Profile

  • Interest in HR, sociology, psychology, education, youth work, or social sciences

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
