Practice Makes Entrepreneurs

Training Course | 5-12 February 2019 | @ Osterholz-Scharmbeck (Bremen), Germany

Application deadline 12.12.2018

Training Course for Youth Workers and Leaders on entrepreneurial education.

Taking into consideration the current situation in the majority of European countries, the international training course ‘Practice Makes Entrepreneurs’ is seeking to equip youth workers and leaders who work directly with young unemployed people with essential business and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, in order to make them capable to indicate ‘alternative paths’ correlated with the labor market, thus contributing to the limitation of the unemployment among youth. Specifically, by saying ‘alternative paths’, it’s being implied the promotion of self-employment and a general cultivation of an entrepreneurial culture. The above target will be accomplished through a combination of practical knowledge provision on entrepreneurship, and a parallel cultivation of a positive way of thinking within the side-paths of self-awareness and self-motivation.

Specifically, participants will experience various practical exercises -mostly based on non-formal education methods- which will qualify them with entrepreneurial knowledge that can be utilized to equip young people with essential skills, in order to be ready to take entrepreneurial decisions concerning complex socioeconomic conditions. Consequently, the subsequent application of those practical methods-exercises within different local contexts, also aims at the dissemination of alternative entrepreneurial methods, thus contributing to the eradication of various obstacles, such as discrimination and inequality in opportunities; problems which are frequently being encountered by young people, especially in the deprived and rural areas of the E.U.

The Art of Dialogue

Training Course | 16-20 March 2019 | @ Vienna, Austria

Application deadline 07.01.2019

How can you apply the “Art of Dialogue” approach in EU Youth Dialogue activities? The main focus of the training is to support those who facilitate the dialogue process or specific activities planned by National Working Groups within their work plans.

The "Art of Dialogue" is a set of methods, theories and approaches for participative and interactive group moderation and process design. It is based on frameworks such as "Art of Hosting", "The Way of Council" or "Theory U". It has been developed in the course of working for the Structured Dialogue, first on the national level in Austria (2015-2017). During the Austrian EU presidency 2018 it was used to promote the Youth Goals as a common vision for youth in Europe and in running the EU Youth Conference in Vienna.

More info about the approach: Structured Dialogue Learning Map, http://www.jugend-politik-dialog.at/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/LearningMapStructuredDialogue.pdf

The context of the training is the new EU Youth Strategy for 2019-2027, which is the European policy framework for young people in Europe. After the Structured Dialogue process, it puts the EU Youth Dialogue at the front, aiming to establish participation of young people in decision making process at all levels- from local, regional, national and European. This is a window of opportunity to include new approaches in implementing the EU Youth Dialogue.

We want to explore how to make use of the methods and attitudes that have proven successful in 6th cycle of the Structured Dialogue, in order to be more effective in:

  • facilitating meaningful dialogue among young people and stakeholders,

  • building trust and cooperation among various stakeholders,

  • promoting the EU Youth Dialogue

The Art to Reflect – About meaningful reflection in trainings

Training course | 26 February - 1 March 2019 | @ De Glind, Netherland |

Application deadline 10.12.2018

This trainer skills workshop (TSW) intends to expand trainers’ toolkits with reflective approaches and to equip them with the skills to plan and implement reflection as part of the learning processes.

The Trainer Skills Workshop on the Art to Reflect will focus on:

- Practical skills to support participants with valuing and using reflection as an essential part of learning;

- Knowledge and Awareness of designing and delivering effective reflection sessions, adjusted to various learning environments and educational approaches;

- Supporting learners in reflective space and practice in the context of the European Training Strategy (ETS) - in the field of youth.

Participants will get the possibility to:

- Explore the competence area of “Learning to learn” in the ETS Competence Model for Trainers and its interconnectedness with other Competence areas;

- Share experiences and creative methods of individual and group reflection processes during training courses and related learning activities;

- Linking this reflective experience to participants’ training practices;

- Experience a variety of individual reflection and reflection groups;

- Self-reflect: the trainer as learner (individual and within the team).

Trainer Skill Workshops (TSW) are offered twice a year as part of a strategic long-term cooperation between NAs and SALTO T&C RC, coordinating European training offers for trainers. It supports advanced trainers exploring a certain area of trainer work and related competences of the ETS Competence Model for Trainers. In the context of TSWs, advanced means that the trainer-learner has the capacity to reflect on their practice as a trainer. This also implies a capacity for [self] assessment.

TARGET GROUP & TEAM OF TRAINERS *TSWs (https://www.salto-youth.net/rc/training-and-cooperation/trainercompetencedevelopment/trainer-skill-workshops/) are targeting trainers who already have a long-term experience with training in the field of youth. We do not wish to set a strict minimum number of years of experience or a number of training courses but rather focus on the need for applicants to have the capacity to reflect on their practice as trainers, which generally require several years of regular practice. The training activity is for trainers who wish to develop their competence with regard to particular areas/skills and transfer the learning to their youth work practice.

The team of this TSW is composed of Gabi Steinprinz and Joanna Wrońska.

CONTEXT This Activity is organized by the "Trainer Competence Development” project: www.salto-youth.net/trainercompetencedevelopment The Austrian, Dutch, Czech, Estonian, German, Irish, Polish, Slovenian and Spanish Erasmus+: Youth in Action National Agencies together with the SALTO Training and Cooperation RC develop and carry out this long-term NA strategic partnership project. Supporting the competence development of trainers is an important aspect to ensure the high quality of youth worker trainings in Europe. The ETS therefore calls for the development of a modular system to train the trainers of youth workers by defining a set of essential competences that can be acquired in specific courses and serve to establish a pool of certified trainers in Europe. SALTO T&C RC keeps this subject on its agenda and develops projects in cooperation with NAs and other stakeholders.Note: arrivals are expected on the 26th of February evening and departures on the 1st of March after lunch.

TC Youth Entrepreneurship Education Heroes (Y.E.E.H.!) in Mileto, Italy /17-24.01.19/

- МОТИВАЦИЯ - мотивация за участие в проекта е един от най-важните критерии при избора на участниците. Винаги включвайте подробно описание на това как целите на проекта съвпадат с вашите интереси, какво ви мотивира, имате ли предишен опит по темата и защо и как смятате да използвате наученото след участието ви в проекта! Друг важен момент е желанието ви да научите нещо ново и полезно, както и да подобрите вашите ключови компетентности (виж 8-те ключови компетентности ТУК!). Бъдете искрени и подробно опишете какво ви привлича, какво искате да научите, да развиете или подобрите в резултат на участието си! Искаме да придобием представа, дали наистина имате искрен интерес към проекта. Дългите и украсени с езикови средства отговори, както и кратките, тривиални и общи отговори няма да ви помогнат при избора, ако те не съдържат необходимата мотивация, която търсим във всеки един участник! И запомнете - Еразъм+ НЕ е безплатно пътуване, туризъм или развлекателно събитие и мотивация, съдържаща точно тази цел, е недопустима!;

- ОПИТ - описвайки предишния ви опит по програмата Еразъм+ или други международни програми, трябва да направите кратко пояснение относно проектите, по които сте участвали, включващо информация относно темата, на която са били и какво сте научили на тях, а не просто да изброявате брой, имената им и в кой град и държава са се провели!;

- Преди да попълните апликационната форма за кандидатстване, прочетете 2 пъти описанието на проекта, запознайте се добре с изискванията и преценете дали датите на проекта съвпадат с плановете ви!;

- Четете внимателно профила на кандидатите (най-вече възрастовото ограничение!);

- Запомнете, че участието ви в проекта приключва чак след изпълнението на задачите, поставени от МЦРОО, които задължително трябва да изпълните, когато се приберете отново в България!;

- Следете имейла си, следвайте инструкциите и отговаряйте своевременно, ако искате да участвате и да покажете ангажираност!
