Sustainability in Action, Every Day
Welcome aboard to Be Green, ICDET’s long-term initiative for environmental awareness, sustainable living, and climate-conscious youth action.
Be Green is not a campaign that happens once a year, nor a slogan printed on posters — it is a daily practice woven into everything we do. At ICDET, sustainability is not separate from our youth work, education, and mobility projects — it is at their core, guiding how we travel, how we learn, how we work, and how we cooperate across borders.
This initiative was born from the recognition that young people today don’t just want to talk about climate change — they want to act. They want to cycle instead of drive, to run zero-waste schools, to upcycle fashion, to calculate their own carbon footprints, and to plant trees for future generations. Be Green provides the tools, spaces, and opportunities to turn that passion into real action.
Through international youth exchanges, practical workshops, local campaigns, and everyday habits, Be Green empowers participants to live what they learn. From travelling by train to Erasmus+ exchanges, to digitising materials instead of printing, from creating rooftop gardens in schools to holding repair cafés for old electronics — Be Green connects small individual actions with the global fight against climate change.
At its heart, Be Green is about building a culture of responsibility, creativity, and cooperation. It is a reminder that sustainability is not a one-time choice, but a way of life — and that together, we can shape greener futures.
It’s not about going green once. It’s about living green, always.
What is Be Green?
Be Green is ICDET’s cross-cutting framework that links sustainability with youth participation, mobility, and education.
It is not just about learning what sustainability is — it’s about doing it, living it, and inspiring others to follow. From everyday habits in homes, schools, and offices, to youth exchanges dedicated to climate action, Be Green empowers young people to become leaders of change.
