My name is Momchil Benov and I took part in the KA2 Agro-youth entrepreneurship and pan European cooperation project, which took place in Tbilisi, Georgia – from 30 April to 9 May 2019.

During the project, we managed to visit four different locations in Georgia – Tbilisi, Gori, Rustavi and Telavi. Our two main goals were pretty simple. We wanted to present the project with all the work that had been done and to promote the Hazelnut mobile application, while at the same time to provide school and university students with useful information, concerning the Erasmus+ programme.

Both students and teachers were eager to listen, ask questions and learn about all the possibilities that the EU provides for Georgians. It probably comes as no surprise that all the participants, including myself, shared various Erasmus+ experiences, which was greatly appreciated by the locals.

The students were particularly interested in the Hazelnut app, which, I think, is revolutionary, as it could be a very helpful tool for everyone who would like to be involved in hazelnut production. We got some very surprised looks when we shared that the app collected data from other weather forecast apps and informed growers if they needed to water their hazelnut trees, or even fertilize them.

Last but definitely not least, we managed to get to know Georgia better by visiting a folklore music concert, where we got to enjoy traditional acapella singing. We also travelled to Kazbegi and saw some beautiful landscapes on the way, visited Ananuri and Gergeti Trinity Church and even went to a local winery, where a guide explained to us how Georgians used to make wine in the past.

Of course, we couldn’t help but explore Tbilisi and the old capital – Mtskheta, where we tried the local cuisine and walked around for hours!

All in all, I do believe that our mission was accomplished, and we helped a lot of youths realize the importance of such projects and their impact on society.

Entrepreneurship is not only about businesses and profits, but it’s also about vision and passion and it constitutes a powerful tool to trigger positive change in society. The question constantly swirling in the head of an entrepreneur is: “how can I make the world better? What kind of tools are needed? Is there any recipe for a more sustainable, more efficient or more equal entrepreneurship?” In this video, Idan M. Hadjri, member and community development manager of KE{M}BALI - a creative and innovation hub - present us their project, the role of coworking spaces in entrepreneurship and the importance of networking. In addition, Ni Komang Ayu Suriani, Founder and CEO of Diffago - a socio tech platform for sustained empowerment of People with Disabilities in Indonesia - describe us, based on her experience, the challenges and the main ingredients for setting a successful social business. We create, we share! Thank you, Act Global CIC!
