Project description: How can you do that in a better way than participating in a project that is all about hiking and rock climbing while getting off your phone and getting to know people from other countries.

The main objectives of the project are:

- Increase awareness among participants about the importance of practicing physical outdoor activities.

- Decreasing the time spent using social networking websites and movie streaming sites.

- Rising the notoriety, in the communities where the participants live, of the importance of practicing physical outdoor activities

Outdoor Rocks - an initiative to increase awareness among young people on the importance of practicing outdoor activities

In collaboration with Young Europe Society Association we implement between 16 and 27 July 2021 in Bălan-Harghita the Outdoor Rocks project, a Youth Exchange co-financed by the Erasmus + program of the European Commission. The project brings together 65 young people accompanied by group leaders from Romania, Bulgaria, Portugal and Lithuania. The theme of the 10 days of activity is hiking and rock climbing. Guided by group leaders and experts in the field, they will learn how to organize a mountain hike, what are the protection measures to be taken in such an activity, and will have the opportunity to practice rock climbing, regardless of the level of previous experience. The place of activities will be Lonely Rock, representative for Bălan and for the rock climbing trails arranged for all levels of training.

In addition to the thematic activities, young people will take part in many team-building activities, discover the opportunities offered by the European Commission's youth programs and develop their civic sense, along with other intercultural skills.

At the end of this project we anticipate that the young participants will have an increased interest in practicing outdoor activities, to the detriment of the time spent in front of the screens.

ICDET is happy to be partner in this project.

Welcome and Introduction

United Societies of Balkans welcomed all the partners to the meeting. The main topics of the discussion were COVID-19, how the partners are doing during the lockdown and the situation around Europe. The new guides of E+ and ESC were also a topic to discuss and the new calls.

New Programme, plans for the deadlines and E+ Accreditation

All of the participants admitted that the deadlines of the new Programmes are very close and most of the organisations won’t apply for any projects in May’s deadline. Yannis said that the results of the Erasmus accreditation are still not published, so for the KA1 projects the things are unstable. Both Ester and Jorge said that they won’t apply for projects in this deadline because they will focus on the ESC quality label, since some things have changed in the new ESC Programme.

Communication for partnerships

For the better and faster communication of the members of the Network, a shared Google Drive folder will be created for uploading PIFs and any other information relevant to the projects that will be submitted in May. In the folder, there is also an excel in which all the organisations can share the call for partners for their projects.
