Those for whom BBQ is an essential part of summer living, will know that grilling is more than just having dinner. It is a perfect way to spend time with family and friends. It is an opportunity to show off some culinary skills and useful ideas. And yes, of course, the essence of BBQ is the variety of really delicious meals that end up on your plates. Here are a few, including some for vegetarians.

Hamburger – the king of BBQ

There is beauty in simplicity, and that goes twice for the traditional hamburger. In other words, more you put inside, it doesn't help the result. The essential ingredient is the best beef you can get. If nothing else goes in besides some salt, you will still get a great burger. The ideal is beef with a fat content of 20 - 25%, minced just before grilling at a low temperature, which prevents the fat from separating. The best is to add only salt, pepper, or Worcestershire Sauce to the mixture and then immediately place it on the grill.

Tip for Vegeterians:

Grilled tomatoes with mozzarella

Broadly speaking there are two ways to prepare an attractive dish made of very basic ingredients. Either you can cut tomatoes and mozzarella in slices with basil on top, à la Caprese salad. Or you alternate slices of tomato, mozzarella, and basil and place the whole stack on the grill until the cheese melts. Another is to cut off the top of a tomato, empty out the seeds and liquid and then fill with a mixture of torn mozzarella, basil, bread crumbs, and pecorino. Season with salt and pepper. The grilling will be much easier with the second option.

And for Vegans:

Vegetable skewer

The absolutely easiest way to prepare vegetables on a grill is to use a skewer. Whether it is tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, corn, onion, potatoes, or mushrooms, the important thing is to cut pieces that are not too large and use a suitable marinade. The rest comes with patience and practice.

Marinade

5 tbsp olive oil 5 tbsp fresh lemon juice bunch fresh parsley bunch fresh coriander 3 garlic cloves 1 tsp ground coriander 1/2 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp sweet paprika 1/8 tsp chili powder salt black pepper

Put all the ingredients into a processor, except the herbs. Grind into a smooth paste, than add fresh parsley and coriander and switch for a moment until the herbs are just chopped, not completely disolved. Ready made marinade should be applied on the skewers and left for a couple of hours before actual grilling.
